Have you ever been in a meeting or walked into a room suddenly to feel something off, heavy, or even negative? This is frequency. It is energy and subtle social cues that we’re sensing.
Maybe there’s a negative co-worker scowling in the corner and whispering rude comments about the presenter to their neighbor. Maybe there’s a brisk conversation at a neighboring dinner table that feels too close to a fight. Organizational psychologists have studied this in the modern workplace, negative energy spreads quickly and is hard to eradicate. I always envision a bowl of berries, the one that rots first seems to take the ones next to it with it.
Because I didn’t love my high school physics teacher, he really did have a weird vibe, I went to some trusted sources on google to remind me what I should’ve remembered from years ago.
Physics states that everything, yes, everything, has a frequency. From the smallest cell to the largest planet everything in the universe is in constant motion, vibrating at it’s own unique frequency.
Even when you’re sleeping every cell in your body is working to keep you alive.
There is a lot of talk in the more woo-woo circles about frequency, energy, raising your vibration, etc. There seems to be a million channels on youtube with special hertz healing frequency music, live sound bowl meditations, and reiki teachers that over the interwebs can cleanse your energy.
I was at a concert in a small venue this past weekend with Matt to see family perform. He studied sound engineering in college in addition to playing multiple instruments. I always learn something new from him when we’re enjoying live music. All of a sudden he walked back about 40 feet from the stage, and then came forward again. What was he doing?! I looked at him strangely.
He explained that, this instruments sound wavelength goes to 40 feet (I realize I am likely not explaining this the best), so by walking farther away from the instrument you can hear all the other instruments clearly and it better too. As he explained this, I could see in my mind’s eye the waves going from the instrument to us and translating to sound for us to enjoy.
What if humans have a wavelength that we emit that extends out from us?
What if businesses and the products they create have a frequency?
What if we can change the sound and length of that wavelength by tuning ourselves through physical movement, joy, hobbies that light us up, healing inner wounds, receiving healing arts like reiki, acupuncture, eating intuitively and locally etc?
What if a business could change it’s frequency by ensuring it’s actions matched it’s words, it’s employees were empowered, and it’s decisions were made with people, earth, and quality first?
What if the state of our nervous system, hormones, mindset, and outdated beliefs all impact our frequency like a guitar in or out of tune?
If there’s something that you want in your life that you don’t yet have, maybe your energy is pushing it away, like the wrong side of a magnet, rather than drawing it towards?
Check out this fun article on what researchers found about the frequency hummingbirds wings create! How cool!
I’m still grappling with this whole idea, as I never really envisioned or clicked the pieces in place this way. And in case you’re curious where I learned about the bee, check out this article here.
Here are a few proven ways I’ve turned to that have almost immediately upleveled my frequency and aligned my vibration with what I most desire:
What are things that you do that light you up and energize your frequency? What are things that make you feel heavy and weighed down?
Matt, Kai, and I are headed to Flagstaff this weekend. I have a sinking suspicion I’m going to really enjoy the frequency of that place.
