What is Heart-Centered?

Everyone absorbs information differently. Click the above to listen rather than read the below.

I realized a few weeks ago that what shifted my life the most in a positive direction, that clients are most attracted to in working with me, and what the main page on my site talks about is nowhere on my blog. What an ah-ha moment. And the deep digging and work began to recreate, adjust, and curate a place that could be your map to more heart-centered living.

What does being heart-centered mean to me?

To be, act, and make decisions from your heart rather than your head. Studies show heart frequency senses before the brain as it extends farther out from our bodies. It’s deeply connected to the intuition and what is best for you and the planet. It rarely makes logical sense in the moment. It usually nudges you towards something that’s a bit scary. It trusts that there is always plenty and doesn’t have the same patterns and desire to “keep us safe” as our brain does. It opens us up to joy, impact, connection, love, laughter, opportunity, adventure, and, yes, even more regenerative profit.

It often takes great courage to act from the heart. Which is probably why cor is latin for heart.

Our ego, which takes its job of keeping us safe very seriously, kicks and screams as we follow the heart. Our inner dialog can get worse, and our desire to self-sabotage is almost impossible to thwart. Some of our most negative avoidance traits may rear their ugly heads. But the thing is the ego’s sense of safety is stuck wayyyyy back in time, and its desire to keep us safe actually keeps us from the things and life we desire most.

Why is this important to me?

I was always an over-thinker, over-analyzer, and highly insecure in myself and my decisions. I clung to my insecurity like a shield. I used data to make choices. It was my career for many years. But what if the data + what the world tells you you should do doesn’t get you to where you want to go? What if it slows you down and holds you back? What if you’re unhappy, unhealthy, but know there’s so much more?

After tuning more into me through learning reiki and regular meditation, I gradually made the shift to a heart-centered life. I started making ALL choices from the heart (yes, even silly ones like a new outfit, but truly it’s not silly at all).

I will never go back. My hope is that what I learned using simple and time efficient tools can positively impact you and bolster your courage on your way to a more heart-centered way of life.

The categories I’m beginning this with are exactly where I focused when I began my journey many years ago. Home, food, business (yes, I slowly brought my heart-centered ways to the Tory Burch HQ), & having the right tools to support me. There are so many more that I’ll likely dive into later. But it’s best to start simple, right where you are.

My experience has shown me that when we nurture ourselves with tools, anchor ourselves in a well-organized and cozy home, & empower our bodies with a healthy relationship with food, we show up better in every area and relationship, including business. Everything is symbiotic.

  • Home: …is where the heart is
  • Food: to nurture the heart, mind, body, and soul
  • Business: a heart-led approach for more regenerative results
  • Tools: to support a more heart-centered you
